Republic - A PAIR OF ‘FAMILLE-ROSE’ ‘BAJIXIANG’ COVERED BOWLS, SEAL MARK AND PERIOD OF GUANGXU (1875–1908)
 
 

Each delicately potted with sides of the exterior finely painted with the bajixiang (“Eight Buddhist Emblems”) divided into four parts, each pair tied together with a flowing brocade ribbon, set between an iron-red key fret border at the rim and linked ruyi heads around the foot, inscribed on the base with the six-character seal-mark in underglaze-blue.
