Ming Dynasty - A Fine Large Blue & White Dish (Wang Xizhi), WANLI SIX CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
 
 

The interior painted with a landscape scene depicting Wang Xizhi seated on a stool being presented a goose by a young boy, with two further assistants standing behind him beneath a pine tree, all within a double-circle border, the cavetto with two longtailed phoenix alternating with two striding dragons, evenly spaced between ‘flaming pearls’ and ruyi-clouds, the exterior with eight alternating flowers and fruit sprays, the base bearing the reign mark.
